Dr. Jennifer McCormick, the former state superintendent of public instruction elected as a Republican but now billing herself as a Democrat, has been popping up well outside both her home territory and the Indianapolis metro on the Democrats’ “Contract with Women” tour, beefing up both her network and Demo bona fides, lending credence to the expectation that she will run for governor as a Democrat in 2024. She’s now on the road campaigning for Hammond Mayor Tom McDermott, Jr. (D) – against U.S. Sen. Todd Young (R), with whom Dr. J was elected statewide in 2016.
