Good news for Indiana: Illinois lawmakers passed a measure May 24 that extends the restriction on sports betting apps in Illinois from accepting wagers on in-state college teams for at least another year, through June 30, 2024. The ban – which did not apply to in-person wagering – had been set to expire on July 1, 2023. Illinois’ governor has not yet indicated how he intends to act on the legislation, of which the wagering provision is a small part of a bigger unrelated measure.
