Former Sen. Brent Waltz (R) of Greenwood, who pleaded guilty last summer to federal criminal charges related to illegal conduit contributions from gaming interests, has 41 days knocked off his incarceration at FCI Ashland, a low security federal correctional institution in Ashland, Kentucky, with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp. His projected July 23, 2023 release date was recently updated to June 13, but we’re not sure why.
