Former surgeon general Jerome Adams, who also served as Indiana’s state health commissioner during the Pence Administration, tweets Thursday that “If your TRUE priority is keeping kids in school,” that “Lifting Universal Masking in Schools – Covid-19 Incidence among Students and Staff ” a new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, “shows masking when cases are high (like now w/ RSV + flu + covid) is a proven tool that can help us achieve this goal. You may not like them, and there need to be exceptions for those w/eg speech issues, but masks work!,” contends Dr. Adams, now on the faculty at both Purdue University and the Indiana University School of Medicine.
