Adam Steen (R-WI), who grew up on a farm in Muncie before moving to Wisconsin for college, was the apparent narrow loser in a surprisingly close primary battle with veteran Wisconsin House Speaker Robin Vos (R-WI), trailing by some 260 votes out of a five-figure number of vote cast. Steen, endorsed by former president Donald Trump (R), ran on a platform calling for overturning the 2020 presidential race results; protecting life at conception, and promoting constitutional carry of firearms. He was outspent by more than 10:1, and subject to a negative campaign that included one mailer that began, “Born and raised in Indiana, Adam Steen is not one of us.”
