Judge James Sweeney II of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana approves a joint motion from attorneys for the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana and former Sen. Brent Waltz (R) of Greenwood and former Rep. John Keeler (R) of Indianapolis, a top exec and general counsel for Spectacle Entertainment, LLC (and its Centaur Gaming parent, which was the subject of the investigation which ensnared both men) to reschedule their respective sentencings from Wednesday, July 20 to Wednesday, August 17, due to conflicts that counsel had with the original sentencing date. Waltz and Keeler were originally co-defendants and co-conspirators who separately pleaded guilty to assorted federal charges. The judge wants all “sentencing memoranda and/or supporting exhibits” to be filed by July 29.
