The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation Board of Education votes to increase its bus drivers’ pay, raising rates to $100 per route, amid the national bus driver shortage. The increase will go into effect starting next school year. Additionally, bus drivers will be added to the school district’s employee staff handbook instead of being in a separate handbook. EPCSC Superintendent Dara Chezem tells WKVI 99.3-FM of Knox that “The two changes that this would bring about is that bus drivers would receive the same paid holidays as our other 180- day Classified Staff, and that bus drivers would be able to accrue up to 60 sick days instead of the 30 that it’s currently set at.”
