Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg debuts its $2.4 million Barstool Sportsbook expansion, a mini-casino of sorts itself now, replete with slot machines, table games, and new dining options. The state’s leading retail sportsbook, just 2½ years old, saw a renovation as Ohio prepares to open retail and mobile sportsbooks, opening in time for the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments. “How do you build loyalty? You offer them the products that they want, right? And that’s why we’re expanding the space. That’s why we’re trying to develop an environment that’s all-inclusive,” Mike Calle, HCL’s vice president and general manager tells Dan Monk of WCPO-TV in Cincinnati. “When we expanded, we said let’s make this all-encompassing,” Calle explains to the veteran business reporter. “Let’s make it convenient for our sports book players so they don’t have to walk to the casino floor. Let’s bring table games here. Let’s bring slot machines here. Let’s bring the games they like and want to play in this venue.”
